Privacy policy

Algoritmi Solutions (“we”, “us”) runs algoritmi.com.au and the Algoritmi Assist service. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• When you contact us or sign up: your name, email, phone (optional), store name and website, and anything you choose to tell us.
• When you use the instant preview: the website address you enter, the public pages and product details we read from that website, and the messages you type into the preview chat.
• Technical information: a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop abuse. We don't store your raw IP address.
• Website statistics: we count page views without cookies. Each visit is counted with a code that changes every day, so we can't recognise you from one day to the next or across other websites.
• For our customers' stores: when a store uses Algoritmi Assist, we process the chats its shoppers have with the assistant on that store's behalf.
• When a store connects its orders: we keep order numbers, status, items, totals and tracking details so customers can check their orders in the chat. Customer emails and mobiles are stored as one-way fingerprints for checking who is asking. If the store switches on reorder reminders or review requests, we also keep the customer's email address, encrypted, only to send those emails on the store's behalf. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribes are permanent for that store.

How we use it

• To reply to you, set up your trial and provide the service.
• To build and run your instant preview.
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
• To improve the service. We never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Anthropic (the AI model that writes the assistant's replies) and Resend (sign-in and account emails). Some of these providers process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it, and we share only what is needed to provide the service.

How long we keep it

Instant previews expire after 3 days. Contact and sign-up details are kept while we have a business relationship with you and for as long as the law requires afterwards. Store order records are deleted automatically after 24 months, and all of a store's data is deleted when it asks us or uninstalls our Shopify app. Our security and data breach policy explains how we protect this data and what we do if something goes wrong.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us through hello@algoritmi.com.au. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
